Exactly as we promised this morning, there have come news from the website of Bad Brain Entertainment, regarding what has probably become the most awaited adventure game of the last years, and a real symbol of the future of the genre. Unfortunately, these are bad news.

This news has shocked us as much as it must have shocked all of you. Our first-hand informations from the CEO of Bad Brain Wolfgang Kierdorf (who we shall never trust again) were way different: according to what this mister told us, negotiations with LucasArts had come to a happy end already, and he even claimed that the game, given the bad quality of the previous version, was to be developed from scratch by the same team that began its production before, plus the possible participation of Steve Purcell himself.

Nevertheless, some minutes ago we've read the official press release of the german company, in which exactly the opposite is exposed. It seems now that the formerly beloved californian-based game factory LucasArts does not give up, and they have finally refused to hand over the rights of Sam and Max 2 on the videogame market to BBE.

It is a really bad news to every agventure gamer and lover, moreso now to those who all through this long day have been waiting for official statements from the company. But we are sure this surely will have a negative effect on the hitherto growing popularity of Wolfgan Kierdorf and his company, a company that has made use of such methods which can be described with any calificative except professional, to reach their objective: a big amount of free publicity and, probably, some more sales at their merchandising shop.

We will still be waiting, nevertheless, to learn new info on their other projects, with special interest in A Vampyre Story. That is, only if the joke news that we posted on 28th December, which is the 'April's fools' day on spanish-speaking countries, doesn't end being true...

Anyway, there are still negotiations with Steve Purcell, which, according to what mr. Kierdorf says 'needs the support of all of us.'. Aventura y Cía, particularly, has had enough of this spectacle, and we won't definitely contribute to some company selling more fine bottles filled with air.
